Can Astro Sabers be MURS operated legally? Thanks!

To be legal you would have to set it on low power at the correct output I believe. My guess is people never do that.

And the correct deviation too. The 151 frequencies are narrowband only. The 154 frequencies can be either or according to my records.

Original FCC MURS specs called for radios that were type-approved for
MURS service, but I don't know for sure if that is still in effect.

There was a cut-off for type acceptance. 2002 kind of rings a bell but it might be a little earlier than that.

This is a bit offtopic. Suffice it to say that although most modern Motorola VHF portable radios can be programmed to operate on the MURS channels and are flexible enough in spacing, deviation, and power to do so legally, it is up to the end user to determine if their radio is acceptable from a technical as well as regulatory standpoint.
