Hello :
From the motorola error code explanations page i have.
Error #58 = Bad Code Plug Data.
Solution = Code Plug Is Bad /Replace Logic Bd.
However i would not replace the logic bd till i had dumped in a known good saved code plug reading from another GM300 with the exact model number.
If its just bad info on the code plug then by replacing the info with the good info should put you back up and running.

You might be able to straighten out the code plug error by going into the Service Menu, making a minor adjustment to the Warp Frequency setting, then save that to the radio. Then go back in and restore the value you changed. Often just writing something to the radio will correct some checksum and EEPROM errors. It's worth a try and is a lot cheaper than a new logic board.

Hello :
Oh yeah Error #21.
You are eigther trying to read the radio with the wrong rss program or your radio was programmed with a newer version of rss program than your trying to use.
Motorola has made it so that once a radio is programmed with a newer rss program than the last time - That the older rss program will no longer work.
But if you have a saved or archived a reading of the radio that was programmed with the older then i believe it was possible to clone that back into the radio and then it would work with the older rss program again.
At least i believe i heard that could be done = Youd have to try it.
Otherwise you need a newer rss program version than you have now.
What is the version number of yours ?
Come to think of it this following could posibly cause error #21 .
Maybe the code plug is so corupted that it will not let the rss program recognize it.
If so then you will need to clone a good code plug reading back into the radio.
Must be the exact model number .

Thanks. Yeah, I am aware that once a radio is programmed with a newer version than before it will have to be read with the newer version. It is that way with all Moto programs, as I am sure you know.
I didn't program the radio before, and this was the first time I had ever seen it, so I don't know what version it has in it.
I guess I need to see if I can get a newer version.
Thanks again

Hello :
I really dont know when M started the program thingy with the older not working when programmed with a newer version.
But i do know that it was done with the GP300 /GM300 radios and anything made after that for sure.
The newest version for the GM300 if my memory is corect was R05.00.00
M item number HVN8177F ( Assuming its still available)
Might try and read the one you can and try to clone it into the one your having troubles with then see if you can read it.
Read the one then swap radios and clone it in = If it will go.
If it does my thoughts are you should now be able to read with your older program.
