Today I was given a MCX-90 mobile. It looks new, but all i got was the radio. I took the covers off and its a UHF and programmed to local frequencies. I would like to get it going again, but I don't have a mic, power cord, or an external speaker for it. Does anyone here have any of these they would like to get rid of? Or does anyone know where I can look to find a mic, power cord, or speaker for it? Just PM me with anything you have. Thanks,

Best to go to the WWW.BATLABS.COM website, then to Model Specific info, then choose MCX 1000 (Yes, 1000 not 100 or 90) there is a diagram for the power plug on the MCX1000 page.

The 90 and 100 are the same radio. Bi-Polar PROM based.

Those radios then were replaced by the MCX1000 which is a computer programmable radio.

But ther are a lot of common parts between the MCX100 / 90 and the MCX1000.

The power plug is kind of hard to find anymore, you might just consider making your own, or just soldering to the board.

BTW, the "view" posted on Batlabs for the pin layout is set up as you see the pins. In other words, as looking at the rear of the radio.

If you are looking for a Mic, the standard one for an old Micor plugs in the rear of the mobile radio, the motorcycle radio, and I think the trunk mount used a "wire in" type mic.

If the MCX-90 one time only PROM is the same as the MCX-100, then this Brinkley Electronics link might help:

There's also a website describing converting them to use an eprom instead of that bipolar prom, which is hard to get. I think Brinkley was the site, as mentioned above. Then you just use a common eprom programmer. But...the MCX-90 and MCX-100 are not broadband radios, so after that, you will still need to do a complete alignment.

Well I lucked out on the programming of this unit in that it is already programmed and tuned for what i need, i just need to get it hooked up and turned on. Thanks for all the help!
