Radius P110 to GP300

Post by diskmonger »

Can someone list the required parts to convert a P110 to a GP300. I know I need the housing, etc. Anything else that is required? Speaker?

Yes, the radio is pre-1994 and has the second button next to the PTT.

Thanks in advance.

Hello :
Since its pre 1994 no parts are needed to make the P110 into a GP300.
Other than the front housing which aparently you already have.
They use the same speaker / mike and flex wire for conection as the gp300.
Its actualy a software change in the code plug you need to rewrite that makes the radio a GP300 instead of a P110.
Then you have the added options that the GP300 has.

Yeah, the radio has been converted internally already. I just needed the appropriate part numbers to re-case the radio. I want to use the GP300 batteries instead of these P110 batteries.

I don't want to order the case and find out I also need a few other parts also to re-case it. I would rather get everything I need with one order.

Believe the housing is NLA, know for sure the 16 ch. knob is NLA. Complete cosmetic kit definetely NLA. An overseas seller has housings on and off in large quantities on EBay. Also the GP88 housing should fit and I think uses the GP300 battery. If you're trying to piece it together anyhow you'll need:
Housing
'Motorola' escutcheon
16 ch. escutcheon
Acc'y. connector seal (they're available)
PTT keypad
PTT keypad bezel
battery latch
(2) battery latch springs
Knob seals, speaker grille, light pipe. These can carry over from the P110

OR

If this is too much of a project as of 11/07 there were still P110 16 ch. escutcheons and knobs available thru Moto parts to get you at least partly there.
