Astro CPS R12 Corrupted Codeplug Problem?

Post by alex »

I'm hearing from various people that there are reports of CPS simply not showing RX or TX frequency data for some codeplugs when they are loaded into CPS. This could be from a saved file or reading directly from a radio.

I've heard that the "fix" is to uninstall and re-install CPS in order to fix the issue.

This is reported to happen with R11 or R12 (portable and mobile).

Sometimes if you activate the "Channel Picklist" feature and then exit the CPS without turning it off, you'll get funny behavior like this when you next run the CPS and then read either a radio or an archive. It was a bigger problem with the Astro Saber.

Could this issue be cause by the new installer they started using around R10? I seem to remember before when updating CPS, you were instructed to uninstall the older version first, then install the newer one. Now when updating the CPS, it doesn't require the older version uninstalled first.

So maybe it'd be advised to avoid any potential problems, uninstall any previous versions of CPS first, then do a clean install of the newest CPS. Just to be on the safe side......
