Mode Select - Astro Spectra

I'm having some trouble getting the "mode select" feature to work. I've assigned three buttons to mode select (MS1, MS2, and MS3). From the CPS, it explains that a long press programs a particular channel/mode to that button, and a quick press thereafter will direct the radio to that channel/mode. That would be a pretty neat future if I could only get it to work. Neither a long press or short press do anything. The radios that I'm trying to program this feature to are all Astro Spectras with the A9 head. Maybe the firmware is too old? Firmware 08.01.05 / DSP 6.03.02

Yeah, your firmware is about 3 major revs out of date. Works on my W9 here with the latest R11 firmware.
Do you know if the radio is a 512k or a 1m? If the latter, it should be able to be upgraded to support this feature.

Interesting, I could never get that to work even with older 11.xx firmware. You doing it on the head or dek?

On the control head keypad. Don't have a DEK handy to try it.

All my ASpectra's that I have had, it worked (512k and 1meg, W7/W9)
Try adjusting the short press/long press duration in CPS I forget the exact name of the option, but they actually have to do with button presses than the display, which they seem to refer to. I think the options are in with the "scroll count" option under one of the radiowide screens. I don't have CPS on this computer to get you the correct name.
