I would disagree. The Maxtrac was the Motorola branded version of the Radius M208/216. They are two totally different radios. I don't know what series the Maxtrac would fall under, but I'm sure someone else might know.

Don't forget the Traxar trunking radio. Well, actually we should all forget this radio, but thats another story .

I would've thought the XTS3000 and Astro Saber were in the same series. Maybe I'm wrong. What about the XTS4000? Anyone know where that would go?

I don't think there is a Spectra 9000. Isn't it the accessories, ie siren/PA, control head, etc., labeled "9000". Never saw a Spectra with 9000 in the name/label/documents.

No Syntor XX either.

Didn't catch any mention of Compa Stations, Consolettes or even Super Consolettes. Or Spectra-Tac voting receivers (serving a fleet of Converta-Coms). Four years ago Mike M was asking about memorable Mocoms. He mentioned 10, 35 and 70 I think. The MOCOM 30 reminds me of annual frequency checks done on a sea of school buses in the August heat. Every one of them needed setting too.

Someone mentioned HT-100. I was a kid working in an MSS first time I saw one. The Motorola FTR (suppose you all know what that means) drove up, pulled a UHF one from his pocket, and made our nixie tube frequency counter light up 39.500 (or some such low band state police channel) as he was on his way to demo a mobile repeater concept in 1970. I have a manual for an HT-90 of a later generation, I didn't see mentioned. So much for ancient history.

The Syntor X radio platform with the Systems 90 S control head was known as the Greyhound. The Syntor X9000 series was a combination of the Greyhound radio using the Longhorn data bus structure.

The XTS3500 was code named "Kramer". I believe it's the only radio model that was classified under "Kramer".

Anyone remember the Motrar? It was a Maxar 80 with a trunked logic board/synthesizer added - a real ugly Frankenradio. We used to call it the Mo-Toad. If you've never seen one, imagine a Maxar 80 with a huge beer belly.

Don't forget to include the APCOR with the MX300 series.

I thought the MOTRAR was crystal-controlled... I've got a book for one around here, I should find it and scan the cover photo... Pot-bellied MAXAR for sure!

Yes, the MOTRAR was xtal for RF, but it had a codeplug for its fleetmap & LOTS of logic boards in the belly for privacy plus. What a POS. Made the MOSTAR and TRAXAR look like a nice radio.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the MOTRAR was the first dash mount trunked mobile, when you could get that or a trunked micor. Portable choice was an MX300-T.

They only worked on the original 5 channel PP systems, once 20 channel trunking came out they were toast.

I thought there were two versions, the Motrar 5 and the Motrar 20. I do remember that if you wanted anything higher than 5 on a portable, you had to go to the STX.

And I just got a MTX8250 back from depot with the code name "Satria" referring to the front cover. Haven't seen that one before.

It's funny. The XTS5000 housings I have come with a test sheet labeled "Cosmo/Kramer" on it.

"G" series is G[first initial][last initial]8000 is someone on the engineering/development/leadership of the product development on the infrastructure side.

I am only sure that 'Odyssey' is O3 HHCH for Astro25 radios.

Renegade refers to the MCS2000 series.

Is MCS2000 not JEDI? I've always thought so!
