What radios do you own?: I can't enter that much....

Centracom parts

Post by kf4sqb »

I've recently acquired the "furniture" for a Centracom Series II console, which I intend to use as a platform to set up all my radio gear for my Ham shack. I'm not interested in trying to create a "dispatch" type of setup, just using the cabinets to house radio equipment. There were a few pieces of the original electronics with it, and I want to know the normal use of and specs of them, what (in general) they are worth, and if I can possibly use them for anything without having a complete Centracom setup. What I have is:

BLN1228B: circuit board, has four RJ-45's, a pair of RJ-11's (6 cond.), numerous pin-header plugs (similar to an IDE connector in a computer, a plug that looks kind of like a d-sub, but isn't, and a row of screw terminals, app. 8" X 13".

BLN6866B: circuit board, has a single pin-header plug, a plug that looks kind of like a d-sub, but isn't, and a row of screw terminals, app. 6.5" X 4".

BLN1148B: small metal housing, has a pair of 1/4" phone plugs (stereo, I think) side-by-side on one end, a pair of rotary controls in line on the top, and a ribbon cable coming out of the end opposite the end with the phone plugs, app. 6" X 2.25" X 2.25".

BPN1022A: some sort of power supply, puts out app. 12 VDC and app. 5 VDC.

Also, what type of monitor is supposed to go into the recesses that are obviously intended to hold a monitor? I have a few laying around that are the correct screen size to fill the opening in the bezel to go in front of the screen, but they won't fit in the available space in the cabinet. Does this require some type of special monitor from Motorola, or what?

Thanks for any help!

If you can take pictures I can confirm what you have, but with out running the numbers I assume you probably have the op position for a CC2+ CRT or gold elite. The RJ45s tell me that the one board is the CIE Main board. The pair of 1/4in phone plugs sounds like the headset jack, What makes me think possibly gold elite CIE is the 2 rotory controls, the CC2+ CRT has 4. The row of screw terminals should be orange and those are for inserting wires such as a phone or other options. The black D type connector is your 7 pair cable plug that runs between the op position and the CEB (Central Electronics Bank). Once again I can not go on with out pictures or running the numbers to confirm. You can PM me if you wish to have further info....
