I have an ht1000 model number H01KDC9AA3BN, I am trying to program in a freq xxx.0825 The radio is rounding to 08125. Can this be fixed by updating the firmware?

you can't update the firmware in that radio, it's a B model and can't do narrow band that you are trying to put in it. you need a C or D model

To make certain of this, check F2 under channel options and see if you can change the channel bandsplit...12.5, 20/25 kHz.

I doubt you can with the radio being a 'BN' model, but it doesn't hurt to look regardless.

Would xxx.0825 be a valid freq under any channel split?

Assuming my math is correct (which is questionable)... these channels should be valid: 150.0825, 153.0825, 156.0825, 159.0825. All would be narrowband splinter channels, of course, which won't program into a -BN suffixed HT1000. I'm not even positive a -CN suffix will work... I know a -DN will.

I wasn't even thinking VHF (slaps head). However, a glance at section 90.35 doesn't show any of those as valid Part 90 channels for IB. Section 90.22 shows 159.0825 as legitimate, with a primary coordination for highway maintenance.
