Howdy the other day I re-programmed my MCS2000 "K" bander when the reboot took place I have noticed that the on screen channel display has vanished and also I am no longer able to use my keypad Mic for direct Chan input, have checked all settings and even tried re-programming it with the original Codeplug but nothing comes back is there an internal fuse or resistor or something that I can replace to rectify this,

Check in Display & Menu and on the General tab.

There should be a Channel Text Size. That should allow you to change the Tag and allow you to add the channel number.

As for the MIC goto Controls and then KeyPad Mic and see if they are programmed.

Uhm.. are you absolutely sure you used "Read/Write with No Pack/Unpack?" Because MTSX Lab will act like it's reading a MCS2000, and give you a completely borked codeplug in return that will completely trash the radio if you try writing it back in. If this is the case, your radio needs the original s-record blown back in to recover it. If you didn't save a s-record beforehand.. :o

Also, what you did would throw off the receiving radio's alignment softpots even if it did work right. Never use MTSX Lab on anything without manually writing down the alignment softpot settings first.
