XTS5000 Chargers question

Post by SD70MAC »

Will an XTS5000 battery charge in the old jedi IntelliCharger 2 ? I may make an offer on a XTS5000 m2 and it does not have a charger but I will get the proper one later.

I presume you're referring to an NTN8831A... which is a tri-chem charger for Jedi/XTS. It'll work, but it won't do Sabers. The only charger capable of doing Jedi, XTS, and Saber is the impres WPLN4111AR - which is the recommended charger anyway. Escomm can order one for you, or keep an eye on eBay (though be careful of the firmware revision - you want one with the latest V3.40 firmware in it.)

NTN8831 will charge a saber battery any day of the week, that's why it has the spring loaded guides just like the WPLN4111 does, but it doesn't have Impres technology.

correct, the 8831s come with a plastic insert adapter so the batteries will sit in them OK

Hmm, never seen one of those. Too many Jedi-esque chargers.

The impres chargers are still the way to go...

Hey, first time for everything.

Mine also came with an insert which I guess is for charging the super-small low-cap batteries without the side protrusion? Its part # is 5886116R01
