I'm looking at buying a used ZR340 Telephone Interconnect for a simple RIC setup. I don't know much about the module except that I believe its programmed via DTMF and not RSS. So, does anyone have a manual/pdf/cheat sheet or any other insight into this hardware? TIA-

If your looking to use the ZR 340 as a RIC you dont need a RIC just a digital delay board. This will work with Motorola Radio's with the 16 pin acc connector. Pin 2 Mic in (into the radio) to Pin 11 (dec. out) Pin 3 PTT to pin 8 or 14 programed for COR. Pin 7 ground to pin 7 ground Pin 11 to pin dec out to pin 2 mic in. Program cor on pin 8 or 14 your choice to go low. When a carrior is received with the proper PL or DPL the cor line will go low, take pin 3 low (PTT) and your radio will key. Connect the dec out of radio 1 to the mic in of radio 2 and do same on the other radio and instant repeater. This is a very "sloppy" way of making the two radios work but it will work. Install a digital delay board in line with the dec. out from the receive radio and no squelch crash. to be legal you will need a radio that will ID or an external ID'er Arcom has a digital delay board that will work great, the RAD-2 will give you two digital circuits on one board. The RAD 1 is 25 ms the Rad 2 is just 2 circuits and the Rad 3 is three circuits on one board.

TO RESET THE ZR340 HOLD THE CONNECT BUTTON WHILE THE UNIT IS OFF AND POWER IT ON UNTIL THE PHONE LIGHT ON THE UNIT FLASHES. THE PROGRAMMING IS BASICALLY THE SAME AS THE ZETRON MODEL 30 WHICH IS ALL OVER THE WEB IN PDF FORM! HOPE THIS INFORMATION HELPS!!
