I need a compact UHF receiver radio.

I have a need for compact UHF receiver radios. I have a customer that has a need to monitor no less than THIRTY separate UHF channels at
the same time, as part of a UHF-linked voted repeater system.
Who makes such an item? High density rack mountable receivers operating in the 450-470 MHz range, with COR and audio outputs are required.

At one time Doug Hall Electronics sold small rack mounted UHF receiver cards that went with their 4RV voters. I used some in a hammy system several years ago and they worked "okay". They were a little hard to tune because they did not have an audio amp or speaker, only discriminator audio & COR. I looked at their site just now and did not see any listing for that particular product. Check out their site
http://www.dheco.com/index.htm for contact information. Maybe they will do a special order?

FWIW, about twelve years ago (a long time as radio equipment goes, I realize) I was involved with a system reconstruction at Bethesda/Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. Part of our job was to distribute a number of emergency channels via a 70-volt audio system throughout the house, which included the shop, the engine bays, the bunk room, dining room, etc. I remember that the receiver chassis, which I was told came from Motorola, were small units about the size of the old Regency HR2 VHF transceivers. These were single channel radio receivers that fit onto rack shelves about three to a shelf.
I would think that a competent radio systems salesman, or sales manager, could point you in the right direction on this and save you a lot of time.
Best regards,

Has your research to date yielded any results which do not for whatever reason meet your criteria? That might be helpfull so people don't suggest solutions you've already found and dismissed.

If one were ambitious, he could make a nice set of rack mount GP300 boards and use the bottom contact strip for COR & Audio...a la People Finder style use. I think you'll be stuck with at least some self wiring & set-up, regardless of what receiver you end up going with.
Maybe give Daniels a call & see if they can rack several sets of receivers into one of their subracks. Pricey...but good quality stuff.

edit - after a little further looking around on their site, you can place up to 5 receiver modules into a single subrack. More info here:

I second the vote for Daniels. It will provide you the COR and audio out.

One would think the OP would respond to some of the questions that have been posed...
