Spectra Control Head Inter-operability

Post by BlueLineEnt »

I currently have a Spectra with an A7 remote control head. (T44KMA7JA9AK) Anyway, he display is crapping out and I'm just trying to get a working head to put in it's place for a week or two, then I plan to sell the whole radio as a package. My question is, can I use a Systems9000 control head such as HCN1063B in place of my A7 head?

That radio was designed to be used with an A9 head in the first place, so yeah, you're good.

Read the radio, put the A9 head on, go into F2 - Radio Wide and set the control head type to S9000E, then exit out, fix all of your channel display names (changing the head type wipes them out), then program and you're golden.

Also as a FYI, all A5 and A7 heads are the same. Only difference is that top plastic...all the A7 buttons are under the A5 plastic.
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
