trouble reading a GP339plus

G'Day,
I am trying to programe a GP339plus with the software it came with
I have been able to do this on an XP machine but have not tried it on a Vista machine
When I now try to read the rig I get the following message
"Couldnt createinstance on the device after getting UUID"
I have been able to reprogame the rig in the past
