Is there a way to turn this off from the radio once it is programmed or is it always on? Can't seem to find it in the CPS help or on the board. If it is possible how do I set it up?

Uncheck the Chan Announcement box in the radio wide section of the CPS, or if your radio is a model 2 or 3, set your menu mute function to mute "all tones", and then you can turn off/on Channel Announcement on the fly... Those are about your only options...

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.
