XTL / GCAI Microphone Plug

Post by a1emt »

Looking for a part # on the round GCAI type connector used on the 05 Control heads. Anyone found a source for these yet ? Hate to chop up a programming cable for one.

I have a remote mount XTL5000 with a VRS750 connected using the 25 pin connector. I need an additional PTT and mic in for a Gai-Tronics tone remote panel. I tried connecting both to the 25 pin connector which works fine when the VRS is turned on. When the VRS is off, the mic audio from the tone remote is covered by white noise. I don't want to run this second PTT and mic all the way to the control head, so I was thinking about the GCAI connection on the TIB.

Thanks, that would probably do the trick... and even easier than soldering pins together!!

will the connector you're plugging into take a regular mic? now that I think about it there are a couple of pins jumpered inside the mic cable, the PTT low and audio low I believe. I can verify that later when I have a few minutes to check one.

I will check and see if a mic will plug into the port on the transciever chassis.

Is it the connector next to the 25 pin one? Installation manual says "GCAI 2 - Not for keypad microphone"

err... xtl1500 manual says that... picture in 5000 manual has the same picture but doesn't say that... you'll have to do some research on that connector I guess.
