Guys,
I was wondering if anyone here can point me to a guide that covers the basics of how to properly open an XTS2500I (similar to BatDude's 3000 & 5000 guide).
Also, if anyone knows the part number for the tool that's needed, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I've got the tool on order - but 43 people have looked at this post and no one will even volunteer 60 seconds to cover the basics?
I've been told it's not as simple as the 5000. I got that tool last year, and BatDude's guide could not have made the case swap I did any easier!

you need to remove the top knobs (volume & channel selector) and antenna first. The tool is used for this purpose.
Once removed, then you have to jam the other side of the tool firmly into the bottom of the case. It takes a bit of pressure to get the tool properly seated into the radio. Once tool is firmly inserted into the case, gently pry it back, and the case will come apart.
Your right, it's not as easy to remove the case on the 2500's vs. 5K's, but can be done without marking/scratching/breaking the case.
Good luck

Re: Disassembly of an XTS2500I
I am working on getting one apart without the "tool". The knobs are off. Can the case be opened with two screwdrivers? These radios have been a problem, and this one has been back to Motorola 3 times for being "dead". The repair note mentions "bat con" so I assume there is a solder cracking problem with the battery connection. Sometimes, the case can be flexed and it will work. Has anyone else had this problem?
