Has anyone ever seen an adapter for an MT2000 that will allow you to use the 2-pin accessories from radios like the GP300? I have a whole bunch of stuff with the 2-pin and don't want to buy all new stuff for the MT. Does this exist or am I just wishful thinking? Thanks all!!

I've seen the audio (headphones, etc.) adaptor for the jedi radios that has a PTT, and a 3.5mm jack on it (Part # BDN6676), however, I don't believe Motorola ever made one to accommodate accessories from the GP300/Sp50 series radios.

I had one that adapted GP300 2 pin type accessories to Waris series (it was intended for headsets but would have worked with speaker mics as well). Like MT man I've never seen any reference for Gp300 to Jedi's.

Thanks guys, that is what I was afraid of. That's what I get for upgrading just 1 radio. Guess I'll start hunting for some "supplies" for my MT!! Thanks again.

Believe me, the MTS/Jedi style speaker mic.'s (if that's one of the accessories that your going to be getting) are MUCH better then the two-pronged gp300 styled mic.'s. They are worth every penny ! They have a thicker coiled cord, much more rugged build, and they come in many different flavors. I recommend the 6193 model (NOT the 6191, which is the noise cancelling SP mic.). With the 6191 you have to literally hold the mic. RIGHT up to your mouth in order for the person on the other end to hear anything. With the regualr mic. it picks up your voice much better. True, they are pricey, but they are coming down a lot in the used market.
If the Speaker mic is not one of the accessories you will be buying . . . . well then disregard my entire post lol

Just my .02 on the Jedi speaker mic.'s.

Thanks MT, I actually have the 6191, it came with the radio when I bought it. What I have been looking for is a headset of some sort. We do motocross and there is a LOT of noise!! We currently use some spk mics and some Otto headsets with the full single earmuff, but they tend to get hot in the middle of July standing in the middle of a motocross track! I just found some boom mics that hang from the ear for my GP300s and P1225s, I can't find that style with the Jedi connector. I have considered the adapter with the single plug (as I like the idea of the 2nd PTT) with either a headset or a surveillance setup, or I also considered getting a listen only acoustic tube earpiece that plugs into the spk mic radio plug. Now I'm kinda worried about the 6191 around all the noise... any suggestions?

In a very noisy environment, the 6191 isn't the greatest, however, if you put your mouth 1cm away from it, it should do OK picking up your transmission. If your looking into headsets, they can get VERY pricey. New, the cheapest one is around $199. Plus, with most of them, you need the PTT adaptor cable anyway (or you can just plug it into the Sp. mic I beleive, but who wants to carry all that around ?). In all honesty, I would recommend just a simple earpiece. The RLN4941 would do quite nicely, and not very pricey at all ($49.00 brand new). When I used to work concert details (talk about VERY noisy environments lol) I used the receive only earpiece, plugged into the speaker mic, and it worked like a charm.
