Spectra HHCH Operation

Can anyone tell me how to use the controls on the Spectra Hand Held Control Head (HHCH) to change the scan list, change priority, etc.? Pressing and holding the scan switch shows "SE" on the display. Can anyone explain this operation? Perhaps share a scan of the key instructions?
Thanks,
Mark

Spectra not Astro Spectra right?
Usually the HHCH spectra scan list is programmed via the RSS, and the Scan switch just turns the scan on or off. The Rss lets you scan up to 16 channels including a priority 1 and 2. If I remember correctly its under the F-6 tab in the RSS, slaved mode scan or something along those lines. If I get a chance I need to go into my setup and change a few modes this weekend so I will do some more research for you on it.

Yes. Spectra (not Astro). Press and hold the scan switch displays "SE" so I'm trying to determine that I can do here. Also wondering about nuisance mode delete, whether there is an option for talk back scan that I may not be properly identifying in the RSS and any other options that are controlled by "press and hold" on the mic. I'd really like to get my hands on the original RSS programming manual, but it's no longer available.

Give me a hint on just which HHCH you have. The manual I have shows 2 of them. The simple way
to tell them apart is to look at the right toggle switch. If it shows OFF, R1 and R2, then you have the
option W845ASSP mic. If the right hand switch shows OFF on the center, STD to the top and PVT
to the bottom, then you have the option W845AUSP mic. The steps are slightly different.
Let us know which one you have and I will type the info here.

The control head is a HCN1053A. The right switch is labeled off, on, DIR.. This is the power on/off switch and I believe DIR was intended for talk around.
Thanks for your help,
Mark

I have the same Spectra set-up using the HCN1053A handset.
How do I enable the DIR feature on the handset?
I have channels programmed for simplex (talkaround), but when I move the switch to the DIR position I doesn't work.

Bill,
This is a problem on some A3 Spectras depending on the MLM version. Even tho it says you have talkaround in the programming RSS, it does not work.
It does not seem to be dependent on the HHCH, even the Encription HHCH with the slashed zero works on the talkaround radio.

Any chance you might have the correct MLM board for the A3 Spectra you have of mines in the shop?

I've obtained a "Spectra Control Head Operations Instructions" card. If anyone would like a copy of it, I'd be pleased to scan it and send it to you. I don't see a way to attach it to a message or my limited new user rights don't allow it. Just send me a PM. I'd still like to get hold of a copy of the RSS manual just to have all of the resources on hand in case I ever have a question.

Bill,
Your Spectra A3 has talkaround in it. I will double check for sure.
For the others, there is a way to bring a A3 MLM up to do talkaround or DIR.
