Hi there,
I've been lurking around for a while and am finally making a first post.
I'm having a few issues programing my XTS 3000 M3

Firstly i can't seem to get the radio to vote,
The flashcode is 540008-000600-1 which contains conventional voting which i am trying to do.
* I have my 4 conventional channels in zone 1
* I have all four channels in scan group 1, which is a voting scan group.
* All of the 4 conventional channels have been added to scan group 1 on the conventional page
Yet for some reason it wont vote.

The other problem i am having is i get no audio from the radio.
* I get the red activity light flashing but i have to use the monitor button to hear the audio.
* It used to work, and i used to have the symbol of the speaker on the screen, but when programming one day it disappeared and i cant get it back.

The channels i am working with are all analogue channels with a tone of 110.9hz

If you are only hearing the audio when you press the monitor button, the CTCSS tones may be off. Check to make sure that 110.9 is the correct PL for your agency.

If the speaker symbol was on the screen prior to programming, it was set for CSQ on the Rx screen. I'm not too familiar with the Astro CPS, but If you select "none" or "CSQ" under the Rx frequency, the radio will unmute for any transmissions.

I worked out what the problem was with the audio, it was something to do with PL and for some reason the frequency was set as P25 and when changing it back to Analog it buggered up the settings for un-muting the speaker.

Still can't work out why it won't vote however

Alex - its possible the input and output pl tones are different on the repeater or repeaters in question.
Check with the radio techs or admin for this system and make sure of the tone info you have.
Sorry - but can't comment on the voting problem, perhaps someone else can help out on that.

I have found recently that more and more public service agencies are having their
tone-coded analog systems set up with different input and output tones. It's
obviously a security measure.
