From my engineering days at NC A&T SU (I was computer science in the coll of engineering, not an electrical or computer engineer):

In general, in the truest sense of the memory effect, Lithium Ion and Nickel metal-Hydride do not suffer from this phenomena, only Nickel Cadmium.

So, true.
