I have a 50 watt VHF XTL5000 that has a reboot issue. It will reboot on its own every 5-15 minutes without any loss in +12V. I timed it for about 6 cycles this morning and it was nearly every 9 minutes but it does it anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes.

It does the same thing whether set up as a W4 or O3. Does it on the bench and in the vehicle.

Im guessing DEPOT trip but has anyone else dealt with this before?

I tried a firmware refresh and no go, and no, trunking is not involved.

Just a couple of house cleaning questions.

What is the supply voltage? Make sure your not trying to operate the radio below
12 volts. This goes for both the ignition feed and the high current feed. Double
check it.

By any chance is the radio going into the emergency mode? Make sure you have
a jumper from the emergency pin on the accessory connector to ground. This makes
sure that even if the emergency mode is programmed, it won't try to transmit.
