Motorola has quit supplying the 800 Mhz power amps for the MTX850 radios. They now require us to send in the radio under a flat rate repair charge. It used to cost us about $80 for the power transistor, now we have to fork out over $300 to get them to fix it.

Does anyone know who manufactures that power transitor and where else it can be had?

Would that be the U101? I'm not familiar with the MTX850 series radios.

That's quite odd that they changed the part number and then discontinued the field support for them. I will keep my eye on this. They may have done a redesign that will require a totally different part number.
