Remote mid-power XTL5000 w/ 03-HHCH vs/ 05 Head

If one has the XTL5000 mid-power remote mount radio factory equipped with the 03-HHCH head, can it be converted to work with an 05 control head by simply changing the cables and control heads, as necessary, plus maybe doing a control head sync, too, if the 2 firmwares (03 and 05) are not both the most recent? Or, does it take other hardware change(s), such as the TIB, etc.?
Thanks!

Change the head and the cables and it should work. A sync might be required, but even that's unlikely.

If I wanted to buy a XTL2500 or 5000 mid power for dual head configuration, what 'options' would I add to the base radio? (I'm looking it up on my state bid price sheet, they don't provide much assistance!) Thanks, Ben

Another head and control cable.
Set up the radio software settings for dual heads.

Wow, is it really that easy? I figured I'd need the following:
Motorola XTL2500, 50w
GA00092 add dual control hardware
H1818 Dash to remote head config kit
G442 add (second) xtl2500 control head
W22 add (second) palm microphone
G610 add 30 foot remote mount cable (rear head at pump panel)
G628 remote mount cable (front head in cab)
I just don't want to mess up and under budget the project (the bosses hate that: when we have to ask for more money)
