MCS 2000 Depot Service

Do Motorola shops still offer service and repairs for the MCS 2000?
I am asking because I was trying to take a UHF R1 split Model II, and put it together as a unit instead of the remote mount cable, to more easily bench test it. However, in the process of taking pieces of the faceplate of the radio off to reveal the proper connectors, I overlooked some things and when I powered the radio on, the beautiful Model II control head made a pop and smoke came out of the corner nearest the volume/power knob. Now, the radio doesn't appear to want to read or write and will not work with the backlit DTMF mic that came with it. The radio will TX using a GTX mic, but none of the features on the DTMF mic work. I have not even bothered to check RX at this point because it looks like unless Motorola still works on the MCS 2000, I might as well start looking for a new radio in the R1 split.
