gp300 frequency question

I'm reading up on gp300s offered on ebay. One seller states that the freq band is 138-174 MHZ. When I look at the model specific info page for the gp300 I don't see this as one of the combinations. So is 138-174 a believable band spread?

Hello Dean S :
And welcome to the bd.
The Gp300 is actually built by motorola in two band splits.
Split 1 =136 to 162 mhz.
Split 2 = 146 to 174 mhz.
So the GP300 radio does over lap on freqs some in there band splits which may still work for you if you know the feqs you wanted with eigther split.
If you can get the model number from them then you would know the split and how many channels it has.
Example model number = P93YPC20A2A_
P93 = VHF portable
YPC = GP300 series
20 = 20/25 khz tx width / Wide Band (00=12.5 Narrow)
A = 2ch (D=8ch)(C=16ch)
2 = 147 to 174 split ( 1 = 136 to 162 split )
A_ = ?????
Above example would be a GP300 VHF 2ch portable.
Also you can go to Model Specific rather than General Discusion and click on it and select GP300 and it will provide you with additional info .
