Hey guys,

Got a question. I have a box that here that reads on the back "PA 35W 800M FLN2424A"

The line below that read:

S/N: 736SZP5292


Any help in learning what this does would be greatly appreciated! From what I understand it is supposed to help the Systems 9000 siren/pa option or plug into a MW-520 for RF reduction...?

It's a 35-watt 800MHz power amplifier... put power in on the RF IN port, and more watts come out on the ANT port. Not sure about drive versus power out, however. They were used on the MW520 to boost power out of the internal RF modem.

When you say power in on the RF Port you mean from my radio/computer and then the ANT is meant for the Antenna in/out?

And the MW520 RF Modem operates on the 800 mHz band.

3W in, 35W out. They work great for amplifying an 800 portable.

Unfortunately, there are 800 band-specific components (like a SMD helical filter) on the T/R switching board so moving one to, say, UHF or VHF with a different PA board ain't happening, at least not easily.
