XTS Mic question

Post by laramiecountyCERT »

We are using the XTS5000 mics (RMN5023BSP01) that have the controls on them for volume and man-down. My question is when the radio is powered on the radio goes through self check and emits a beep and then a few seconds later the mic does the same thing. Is this some sort of self test for the mic? I have been looking on the net with little luck on what this might be. Looked through the CPS with no luck either on the subject. I was thinking that a standard mic would do this as well and using one of the non button mics produces no beep.

Thanks for the information in advance.

Mine does that too.. Its just a self check for the enhanced mic. It doent affect the mic or radio.

Ok yeah I threw one of the mics on it with a channel selector knob on it as well and it did the same thing. So I will not worry abut the beep. Thanks for the information on that though.
