I am just wondering if it is possible to put an O5 head on an ASTRO PM1500.

Well, yes, it's possible, but it won't work, if that's what you're asking...

Okay, that's what I thought.

There has been some talk of the 05 head in the future being able to be used. I wouldn't hold my
breath just yet on waiting for it.
Is there some reason for wanting the 05 head except for the second line of text for zone name
being available? I guess there is additional text positions also over the M3 head.

I just would like to have more room to work with over the head (M3?) that comes with the PM1500.
I don't like having to abbreviate channel names and then have the other guys try to decode them.
We don't have the funds to purchase any XTL2500's or XTL5000's, so other than the CDM series the PM1500 is the best we can do.
Would the radio require a firmware modification to allow it to accept an O5 head?

I would lean on a firmware change when the noodle people get with the program. It would also
require an upgrade to the RSS that programs the radios. Only time will provide us grunts in
the field with what the customers have been asking for.
