Have 14 XTL1500 800mhz units in service on a moto Type II analog system. These radios are set up with emergency ID. All mobiles are set up to follow ignition on/off. Problem occuring on some of the radios is as follows: If the radio is physically turned off and the ignition is turned on, the radio will go into emergency mode. If the radio is left on, it works as normal. This only occurs with a few of the radios. I remind the guys to leave them on but every so often you get a bonehead.
Any suggestions?

Re: XTL1500 Emergency ID
Very likely a firmware issue...whether Motorola 'knows' about it or not is the question. Check & see if the affected units are perhaps a different version than the 'good' units.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Re: XTL1500 Emergency ID
Thanks for the response. All radios were purchased at the same time and are flashed the same. I also have one that I went to update the codeplug and now it will take the codeplug (same as all the others) but no buttons or knobs will function. Will only stay on the powered up channel. They are all about to be flashed for digital operation. Hopefully this will take care of the problems. Just strange.
