Has anyone been successfull in seting up a CDM1250 or HT1250 to transmit QCII tones. I would like to configure one of my radios to be able to test pagers after they are programmed. I have setup the signalling and call sections in the programming and asigned the signal system to the channel I am using but when I key the radio there are no tones transmitted.
Thanks.

Absolutely the CDM1250 will encode QCII. Are you accessing the call list from the menu?

I have the same question how do you set up the ex600 or the CDM1250 for this as well? Or can someone lead me in the direction to do it.

Yes you can do it and it works fine from the LISTS as mentioned in this post. I have several programmed this way. You can send me a code plug and what you want I will set up a sample for you. Otherwise I will post instructions when I have some spare time but it may take a bit.

OK so I stayed up late...I hope this helps.
In your CPS Software read the radio or open your codeplug
In the tree pick SIGNALING and configure your Quik-Call II System
In the tree pick CALL configure Quik-Call II Call be sure to give it an ALIAS name.
Create Conventional Personality with the Frequency you want to use for testing.
When creating the conventional personality go to the Signaling Tab and select the Quik-Call Call under the TX…bottom of the screen. Leave NONE in the RX box unless you want to receive pages in which case you would chose Quik-Call II from the drop down box.
In the tree pick CONTROLS and MENUS. Go to MENU ITEMS
At the top level menu tab select Radio Call. Go to Radio Call Sub Menu Tab and Check CALL ALERT
In the tree pick PERSONALITY ASSIGNMENT TO ZONE and add the conventional personality you created.
Make sure one of your programmable buttons is selected for SELECT/ENTER under conventional buttons.
I use the P3 button and will refer to that below
Program the radio
Select the channel you created for testing
Press the button you created for SELECT/ENTER ( I will use P3 the rest of the way here)
Use the center up and down buttons to go to RADIO CALL…press the P3 button
Use the center up and down buttons to go to CALL ALERT…press the P3 button
Select the ALIAS name you created in the QUIK-CALL II CALL using the center up and down buttons
Key the microphone and it will transmit the tones you created in your QUIK-CALL II CALL configuration.
Note: You will not hear the tones being transmitted unless you have another radio on the same channel, but if the pagers are programmed correctly they will open up. Since you are using this for testing when you configure your convention channel select LOW POWER.

Comish,
After I key up the PTT to send the tones it takes a long tiime to go back to the menu to give an alert or voice is this a setting that can be changed?

Is there a way to setup one of the input pins on the back to send a tone? I see that the accessory pins can do a lot of stuff. I wonder if one of them can select and key this channel that we just setup?
