How does mike come apart?

Hello. I just took apart my Spectra mike & grounded the blue wire inside to enable PL decode to work. I'm so pleased with the results that I want to do the same thing to my GTX mike to allow PL decode to work on it too. The Spectra mike had 3 screws to take it apart. The GTX mike HMN1035C has no screws. The cable snaps in place like a mike jack into the radio. I realize that shorting pin 7 & 14 on the accessory plug will accomplish the same thing, but I have no extra pins. Does this mike come apart? GARY N4KVE

Not easily, no. They're glued together and not intended to be field-repairable.

If you swap them out with the black Radius mics that have hard-wired cords, those do come apart and can be permanently shorted for closed squelch.

Put mic in freezer tell frozen cold.. Then take the mic out of the freezer, place on steal plate and hit with sledgehammer!

The trick is to place the edge on the plate and hit the other edge.

I found the correct jumper to short pins 7 & 14. I'll do it that way. GARY N4KVE
