Anyone have luck with using a Spectra for a receiver in a repeater since this radio has no COR? I was thinking that if you used a Zetron controller like a model 38A, you can get away with just discriminator audio. I beleieve it has it's own squelch circuit. Has anyone tried this? Do you know of any reason this wouldn't work?
Thanks in advance,
Larry

Re: SPECTRA MOBILE USED AS REPEATER RX W/ZETRON CONTROLLER
I don't think that will work either. I used the so-called "flat unmuted audio" or w/e off of my astro spectra and it ended up that the audio was indeed filtered. The Z38 will look for flat audio to decode PL tones off of.icom98 wrote:Fellow Forum Members:

I use the det audio pin 9 to do just that in my cross band setup with a ts-32 tone decoder. works just fine.
