Motorola GM160 mobile. Think CDM series in US

Hi,

Just wanted to ask a simple question I can't find the answer to! I done a GM160 search but zero results!

I have hundreds of GM160 40-45watt dash mount mobiles. I think these sell in the USA as CDM-750 etc, but not 100% sure.

I have one that had a "flashing display" which I would think is telling you something!

I cannot find it in any manual and it is the only radio I have seen do it. I did observe it wouldn't accept PTT in this state. I then turned it off and on and was fine and havent heard of it re-occuring.

Anyone witnessed this or know what it's trying to tell me??

Cheers,

Dave, Dubai.

GM160 = CDM1550
GM160 is only conventional radio and can't work in LTR systems

...."flashing display"???...
If radio has flashing display+flashing LED+loud sound it means VCO radio is fault.
In this case the best way to send radio in Motorola service (depot) center.

By accident, I installed too many chip resistors on a CDM display head. It gave an error as you described. It is possible that the micro in the head gave a bad report to the radio CPU, which you cleared when you recycled the power on/off.
