CDM1550/GM360 - confirmation of RJ45 CPS pin out

I have a GM360 , the European equivalent of the CDM1550.

I have checked out the main Batlabs site and it mentions that you can "probably" use a Maxtrac/GM300 programming cable to program a GM360 - although you will not be able to flash new firmware. I just want to check that it's OK to use a GM300 cable for basic programming and squelch tweaking etc.

The pin outs I have are as follows:

RIB pin 1 (GND) to RJ45 pin 4
RIB pin 25 (BOOT) to RJ45 pin 6 ----THIS is missing on the Maxtrac/GM300 cable
RIB pin 15 (BUS+) to RJ45 pin 7
RIB pins 4 and 11 linked

I will be using the latest version of CPS (R03.09.03) and the GM360 has previously been flashed with the latest firmware (R03.11.02). I presume I can use XP with a P4 laptop?? Or should I stick to a Win 98 laptop? Is there any minimum RAM requirement to run the CPS?

Thanks

For what it's worth, I built a cable for a CDM1250. I had to program a GM300 and it worked just fine.

The usual disclaimer, your mileage may vary.

Thanks kn7wnf.

I spent a couple of hours using Google to search the Batboard archives and eventually found confirmation that a GM300 cable is OK for a CDM1550/GM360. However, if you want to flash new firmware, you need the extra BOOT pin out as well as an additional inline switch cable (which is very easy to build and can be used with a standard RIB for flashing rather than a special flash RIB - which is good news!!!).

You can also use XP which I guess is to be expected for "modern" radios - although I always think I should be using DOS and a 486 :)
