Hello Board...

Just confirming that these units are capable of 4W operation. Need to hook a few up to some trunking MCS2000's and just need to be sure they will pass the control tones to the console.

Also looking for a manual for these fine units.....as you guessed by the above question I dont have one....and will most likely need it for the building of the interface cables....and the setting of the dip switches.

PS. If anyone out there has built a cable to interface one of these with the MCS series of radios and has the schematics handy....I would really appreciate a copy or post of it.....would save me quite a bit of time tracing pins and their associated functions at the bench

I also have a few of these and needed to use them in a 4 wire hookup-they do not contain the parts or electronics to work as a 4 wire unit. are 2 wire only.

The 4 MOV's inside - two are for the phone line and 2 are for external 12 volts AC the other TWO that WOULD be used in four wire are absent as is the transformer connections to the other 2 pins of the phone line jack.

Even if you installed the chokes and MOV's the traces run half way around the board and go no where.

There is a possibility that you could hack and whack the printed circuit board to make the transformer take 4 wires-but even that might not be the answer to our problems.

I have resolved to: It's a nice case that would hold two other 4 wire controller cards! As far as the 16 pin cable - build it so when it plugs into the radio it powers up the new 4 wire control and interfaces with the radio-other than that your stuck with two wire control!!!
