CDM Series and Type II trunking

While reading through the detailed service manual for the professional line, I noticed 2 interesting statements, (1) that the radio is capable of Type II trunking and (2) is capable of digital encryption. Has anyone got information as to what models have such options. What the option boards look like? Can the US models be modded for use in the VHF and UHF bands?
