Finally got my kit today, installed the software and hooked it up to the computer. Battery information loaded immediately on the screen.

The following information is displayed:
Battery chemistry, part & serial number
Present charge (presented as a mAh figure as well as a percentage)
Current capacity (potential)
Rated capacity (factory)
Initial capacity (from first charge)

Then it gives the battery's manufacture date, date of first use, and number of days since last IMPRES charger and conditioning cycle. Also gives total number of IMPRES cycles, estimated non-IMPRES cycles, total reconditioning cycles and estimated time til next maintenance service.

It also displays the battery's current voltage and operating temperature, as well as a graph showing at which state the battery was in for the total number of charge cycles (i.e. 7 charges from 0-10%, 28 charges from 10-20%, 12 charges from 20-30% etc)

Also, and what's REALLY freaking cool, is the kit comes with two inserts-- one that lets you analyze MotoTRBO impres batteries and one that lets you analyze Pro Series (ht1250 etc) impres batteries. The analyzer is based on the WPLN4111AR charger.... so with these inserts, the WPLN4111AR can now charge TRBO and Waris impres batteries....very cool!

Which means, by extension, shouldn't an XTS impres gang charger be able to charge a TRBO or Waris impres battery too? That would be very cool...

How about a screen shot?

warning, 1.2mb pdf (had to make it hi-rez, the lo-rez version chopped up the screens and made them illegible)

Not bad at all. I wonder if they'll figure out something to do with the DB-15HD on the back of the gangbang chargers at some point... they've only been talking about this for, what, 3 or 4 years now?

Jeff,

Nice unit, really nice. Unless one is loaded and can't make do with the outboard LCD
reader many of us use that's wired into the Imipres charger, I see this unit as a pro/MSS shop
tool. I get what I need from the small LCD I got from you and then installed in the RS
plastic box...but maybe some day...

Regards,

If you all like this, you should stop by the Thales booth at APCO and see what we have, I think it will blow away this software from Motorola.
