ADP XTS5000

I have been reading the post and cant find the answer to this question!

ADP will "ONLY" work SIMPLEX and or a 9600 baud P25 system?

I am attempting to set it up on a 3600 baud system and the CPS will not allow it..
when I move to the 9600 p25 system it works fine..

So am I correct in this, simplex and 9600 P25 repeaters only for ADP?

It will definitely work on conventional simplex and duplex through a P25 repeater.

It definitely wont work on 3600 baud trunking systems.

I don't know if it works on P25 Trunk systems (which are 4 level 9600 bps - actually 4800 baud) but I can't see any reason why it shouldn't.

Thank you... I thought I was going crazy...I have been searching and reading about ADP for the
last few days and could not find where it states what systems it will work with, but after playing
with it, I got the same answer you gave me...

It definitely wont work on 3600 baud trunking systems

but will work with P25 9600baud trunk and conv systems.

Thanks Again

I'm new to encryption...

If using ADP in duplex mode through a repeater, does the repeater need to be flashed with ADP as well?

No. A Quantar that is Astro-capable will pass the digital voice bits "as is." ADP hashes the bits in the transmitting subscriber and then un-hashes them in the receiving subscriber.

That goes for any encryption algos. The Quantar (or any other P25 repeater) is transparent to the encryption algorithm

So then how would a dispatch console, such as a zetron 4010, be able to decrypt the communication?

Through a DIU.

Can DIU's be flashed with ADP in their UCM?

You have to buy the ADP encryption module for the DIU3000 in order for the Zetron or any other 4 wire console / remote to decode the ADP in P25 mode.
This module is ordered seperately and is inserted into a slot in the DIU3000's. It uses a KVL3000+ that has been setup
withAstro25 mode and ADP encryption. I added four of these to our Sheriff's system 2 years ago. The DIU3000 can be programmed via its tone remote matrix to enable encryption or transmit clear P25 to a Quantar base.

Guys,

It's possible to use software ADP in 9600 trunking? Now XTS5000 doesn't allow transmitting when in Secure ADP and says CLEAR TX ONLY. It's system or radio side limitation?

P.S.
ADP in conventional work just fine on the same radios (it's XTS2500/5000 with R14/R15 firmware).

On our 7.7 system the Motorola techs are using XTS2500's with software based ADP to communicate amongst themselves. So yes it does work in a 9600bps environment. I've also tried it on my p25 conventional system and it works fine to.

Have you checked the strapping on that personality?

Of course. I am able to turn off and in ADP, I see crossed circle when Secure trurned on, but radio says CLEAR TX ONLY in that's mode.

System is ASTRO25, with SmartZone coverage and Omnilink enabled.

I do not know system release.

If I'm reading your post correctly, the talk-group profile in the zone controller is only allowing for clear communications. Until the talk-group permissions are set to allow it you will not be able to do an encrypted call on that particular talk-group.

I think KS4VT is on the case. The talkgroup profile needs to be set to "secure communications mode=BOTH" to allow you to switch back and forth between clear and secure on the subscriber.

ADP will work in the digital voice mode. In otherwords, no analog.
