CP200XLS ???

Post by FatBoy »

Moto just released (on 14 Aug) new firmware for the CP200/CM200 family of radios. In the release notes, they mention the CP200XLS. Does anyone have any info on this radio? Google comes up with nothing and of course 1-800-422-4210 knows nothing about it. FatBoy
......I understand what the package says sir, but you cannot talk 28 miles with 3 AA batteries.......

Just saw some CP200XLS a few hours ago.
Full or ltd keypad, display.Priced along regular CP200.No option board.
146-162mhz and a few UHF splits
PR400 is going away in near future supposedly.
No FM Safe battery option for it yet either.

Care to enlighten?

We currently have several PR400's in service at the fire department and would like to purchase more. They have held up and performed well for our requirements. Any clues on the supposed replacement or date?

Thanks!

The CP200 and PR400 use the same guts so I would not be concerned about performance issues. Only difference is the front cover

One would think after the problems of the GP350/GP300/P1225 and the side connectors that they would have changed the design a little nope. Well, a rational person would think that anyways...

Well, at least they moved them from the top of the radio to the side! As long as people want 'inexpensive' radios, there are gonna be two-pin connectors. Most other manufacturers use them as well, and they all suck equally.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Add to this: CP200XLS has 128 Channels, M says PR400 is not going anywhere due to FM capability.
