Hey Guys,

A friend of mine came across an HT1250 LS+ over the weekend in a garage sale. Radio works, I tested it, has some simplex stuff in the 460's. I wanted to program it for him, but I can not get the radio to read. I am using older software. Pro R06.04.00 CPS.

Am I using the wrong software for this radio. I am aware that there is a "way" newer version, but am I even in the right ballpark?

The CPS keeps asking to check to make sure everything is on and connected correctly.

Thanks.

You may want to clean the contacts on the side of the radio. These become dirty and this causes a poor connection.

Josh, the contacts look pretty darn shiny. I will give it a try with a pencil eraser. I don't believe this is the problem, but I appreciate your input.

It wouldn't matter what version of CPS you were using, if were able to connect to the radio, you'd get some other error message. The message you're seeing indicates it cannot connect to the radio at all, so there is a break somewhere along the line, whether it be dirty contacts, bad flex, bad flex connector, etc. This is assuming your programming set-up is known to be good & can read other radios fine. If not, the problem can lie in the cable, RIB, serial port, etc.
