Well, I find myself in Tempe, Arizona...

Anyone out here who can point me to a decent 2m repeater? Any P25 activity out here?

The only specific Tempe machine in my two-year-old RD is 145.27 N7ADA with no PL shown. If you go onto the ARRL site you can probably take your pick from the list of fifty or so machines in the surrounding area. The entire state is a hotbed of linked systems, more so on UHF, though.

448.725 NAC 293 on Usery Mountain was the only P25 box down in the valley that I remember, but I'm not sure if it's running P25 anymore but still worth a try. I haven't been to The valley of the Slum for a few months and things change really fast down there ham wise.

146.94 on the west side, white tank Mtn ~ 4400 feet, covers all of the valley really fine another good one is Mt. ord 147.36 to the north east at ~7700 feet and 146.84 or 146.86 in mesa can't remember if it's .84 or .86 so try both, 147.12 Apache Jct covers tempe ok. These alll require 162.2 CTCSS.


if you have 6 meters then 53.14, -1 meg with a 100 hz CTCSS on Pinal mtn (7800 feet) covers tempe and is linked to white tanks 51.86 -.5 meg, also 100hz CTCSS.

224.68 in mesa and 223.98 on aWhite tanks both cover the entire valley, both use 156 hz CTCSS, lets see you probably only wanted VHF and UHf so probably too much info to digest.

I'm in Gilbert, AZ for a week as I type this actually visiting some family, and I haven't heard much activity on the ham bands down here. Then again, I just bought one of my handheld scanners, and have not been monitoring maybe about 1 hour a day (busy visiting Sedona, Phenoix, etc.).
