P1755A suitcase AS AVA

Post by radioconsult »

I have an P1755A suitcase AVA, will a AS VHF model II work in it? When I plug the radio in all I get is the charging indicator, when I push the PTT you can hear a soft click but nothing else. Any assistance would be appreciated.

First off, pull the AVA cradle out of the case and look at the model number on the bottom. If it's for Astro radios, it should be NTN7727x or PLN7736A. Anything else and it's an analog Saber SVA.

The suitcase is really just a housing for a power supply, an amplified speaker, and (maybe) a RF amp. The cradle contains all of the logic.
