I've got an enclosure labelled "Centracom Series II" that has a power supply, battery backup, two tone paging cards (obvious due to the permacode filters), An audio amp / speaker card and a card that is apparently a radio at 462.26500MHz (KXN1039B Icom). From the other modules on the card (IF1, IF2, Sq, Det, Audio Preamp) I'm guessing it's RX only.

I would guess that there's got to be a way of interfacing radio audio to the chassis, otherwise having two cards that encode tones would be useless.

Is there any source for a VHF version of the existing radio card? It's PLN6427A if that would help anyone identify the chassis. I was under the impression that all Centracom Series II's required CEB's. Anyone know how to interface with the backplane for ptt & audio i/o? I'd like to add some switches to the blank panels and use it for routing audio between transceivers. Obviously that would be custom wiring but I was wondering about the tone audio and audio from the existing radio card.

Interesting product. Never seen it before. Looks like CC1 by the face plate and vintage of connectors on the back.

I was kind of leaning that way myself based on the fact that the tone boards use actual reeds / filters. I was under the impression that most if not all of the CCII's were programmable as far as the tone button / led's went. I don't think the backplane / cage portion matches the desktop enclosure. The only connectors on the rear of the cage portion are a power cable, antenna port for the one UHF RX radio card and a "Remote" jack that is 4 pins (two flat "spade" type sockets that are vertical, two horizontal).

I agree with several of the posts. Its Centra Com 1 product. If there is a long card, that goes from the
front where the push button switches are, to the back of the card cage, then its CC1 vintage stuff.
CCII had flat panel buttons on small ribbon connectors, that are simply not full length cards at all.
Paging was a software programmed function assigned to buttons via key commands on the console itself.
It certainly looks like a lash-up to me. I dont recall seeing anything like this in all the CC1 and CC2 manuals.

Yeah, the card cage portion of it is definitely CCI, I think it was just stuck in a CCII desktop enclosure for whatever purpose. The unit emits a constant tone when powered on and all tone indicators are lit when turned on(they can be shut off by pressing the button) but the receiver does work. I assume the tone is because the unit's expecting a remote radio of some sort at the rear port.

It's an old "Man-Down" alert receiver system used at jails or by security guards in hospitals, in conjunction with handie-talkies. There were several variations made.
