MT2000 Programming PL Encode/Decode

Hello all, this is my first post so please be kind...

I just bought a used MT2000 VHF 160 Channel radio on ebay. I've got the ribless cable and the latest RSS. I was able to program with my frequncies but not sure where I put the PL Encode/Decode variables in the RSS screens? Also, in the switches menu, it mentions a 2 way and 3 way, I can only find a switch on top that has three positions. I sure wish I had a manual for using the radio but I'll figure it out. Two final questions, does MODE=DA and NAC E/D mean anything? I was provided a progam channel plan with settings for various radios, those are a couple fields from the spreadsheet on each line of channels. Thank you in advance for anything you can help me on.

The 2 way switch is at the bottom of the channel selector. It might show the encryption emblem. O with a / through it. I use it for scan on/off. GARY N4KVE

Yes, the "two way"switch is also known as the concentric switch which is under the channel selector knob as mentioned by N4KVE above.

I haven't had the MTSX RSS software opened in a few months, but if I recall correctly, the PL/DPL tone boxes are just to the righthand side of the frequency boxes. You select the PL or DPL tone for each individual transmit and recieve frequency as required.

I don't recall right off hand if this applies to MTSX RSS or not, but some RSS packages have a seperate selection for either CSQ or TONE. You'll need to select "TONE" in order for the actual tone to be typed in or selected, otherwise the tones area will be "greyed out" in the RSS screen if CSQ has been checked.

Ok, I think I figured it out now... I went back into the RSS and recalled that underneath where I typed the frequency for each channel an option for squelch or something like that. Changed it to PL and was able to add my PL data. What a difference it made too. Without the PL, I was able to hear other radios but they couldn't hear me. Now we are golden. I also appreciate the info on the 1-2 switch and now have found it. I wish there was a programming guide to these radios with RSS, that would certainly help. As it is now, I'm borrowing the software/laptop and doing it myself because my comm guy can't get to it until next Feb or March. Thanks for all the help and feel free to give any advice that might help me get the most out of my MT2000.
