Gents,

I have a Gm300 that I need to hook up local remote. I have a CPI tr10 and ttp1-4w.

Is there a specific setting in RSS that the GM300 needs to be programmed to?

I have it hooked up, but it's not doing anything

Nothing? At all?

Should be straight forward hookup. No special programming in GM-300 needed (except RX audio jumper, is that ju551 or am I thinking maxtrac?) Are you sure of the connections between radio acc connector and TTP?

You state your TTP is 4 wire (-4W), is your remote also set up for 4 wire operation? Even if the remote is 2 wire, you should get receive audio in the remote.

Have you checked the audio levels? If they are even somewhat in the ballpark, the ptt should trip when the remote is keyed.

A bit more info and we can get this solved real quick.

Assuming the tone remote, the term panel, and the GM300 accy plug are working, the default accy plug config should work. You just need four wires - 2 mic hi, 3 PTT, 7 ground, and 16 ext spkr +. If I recall correctly the accy plug configuration is under F4 Change View / F2 Radio Wide / F8 Accessory. The basic functions like ground, mic hi, and ext spkr + cannot be changed, but I think PTT can be reassigned to a different pin. The GM300 also had four line BCD mode select which was very handy, but I do not know if the CPI term panel could output that.

Pin 11 puts out a fixed RX audio level, no need to use the volume controlled pin 16. There is a jumper internally to give either squelched or unsquelched output on pin 11.

The CPI panels come in both DC and tone control. You need to check and make sure you know which
panel you have. There is also an adjustment inside the CPI panels being used on tone control to set
the level at which they function. Before you set the internal pot, make sure what ever tone controller
you have is putting out the correct level. We get into some interesting threads on here about how and
what levels should be set to.

If you have a DC control card, make sure your remote is putting out the required current level to key the radio.

Once you get the radio to key, there is an adjustment on the CPI card to set the TX audio level for
proper deviation. A service monitor would help in trying to set this adjustment.

If you haven't already visited the CPI web site, you might want to go there and download the manual for
the panel you have. That way you will have a diagram of the board and where and what each adjustment
does. You will also have to supply 12 volts to the panel to make it function.

Good luck on your interface.

Jim
