Accessory Plug for MCS 2000

Hopefully this will be the last question about my newly acquired MCS 2000. It's a 100 watt radio & on the bottom there is a connector. I assume this is the accessory connector. On my Spectra, this connector has wires for the speaker & ign sense red wire. From doing a search here, I believe the radio can be programmed to not need an ign sense wire, but I've also read a jumper is needed from pin 4 to pin 9? All the accessories were included with the radio except a plug for this connector. So is this jumper needed, & is the connector special, or a regular DB25? Thanks for any help. GARY N4KVE

It is kinda special. You should be able to make a standard db25 fit with some mod's. You will need an emergency jumper and speaker jumper to send the audio up the control cable.

Or buy the connector from Motorola, already done.

This is the most common problem I see with MCS2000's, the missing accessory connector.

Thanks. I'd rather buy the correct one, than try to modify something. Found one from MRE 1032. He sells all those neat radio connectors, & I've dealt with him before. Thanks for all the help. GARY N4KVE

I have seen a lot on MCS2000 with the jumpers hard wired on the inside of the unit. If you don't need the emergency switch, and are going with a remote kit, or a M1 it works fine.
