I have a quick question for the /\/\ guru's out there. I received a UHF HT1000 in a trade and have a programming questions. I had forgotten about the band splits and received a "S" split radio (470-520). Most of my frequencies are 460 and higher, but below the band split. I read on the BatLabs HT1000 page that they function well outside of the band split. A friend of mine mentioned that it might damage the radios. Just looking for some more info and if I need to find a different radio. Thanks.

The bandsplit of your radio is 450-520MHz

And they usually go down to to 440-450 ham portion of the band. The RSS will warn you of out of range frequency entry, just press "accept " and all is well.

you'll have to use the "shift" key method and enter the frequencies using the top row numeric keys (the ones with the symbols above them on your keyboard). It will complain about the frequencies being out of band, then you hit the "F10" to accept.
