Heres my situation,
One of my local fire departments called me and said they want to buy 2 "UHF bluetooth mobiles"
Unless I missed a product debut or something, no such thing exists, other then the Jedi/XTS bluetooth adapters....
So im looking for suggestions, because it looks like im going to have to custom manufacturer something....this is so the Pump Operator can use the radio remotely.....not how I would set it up myself, but its how they want it....

The radios they are using right now are Icom F6021's I believe, so I was looking at a kit like this and was thinking of wiring it into the radio...getting the receive audio into the unit would be simple, not fimiliar with the Icoms, so im not sure what i have to deal in regards with accessory connectors and routing audio from the bluetooth into the transmitter....

anyone do anything like this before?

Did they explain why they don't have the radio wired to the pump panel with a Firecom or David Clark headset system like most other agencies? Range for Blue Tooth adapters is measured in feet, not yards. Proximity is important.

I just checked Firecom, and they do have wireless adapters for their system.

Motorola had (has?) a bluetooth kit for the CDM mobiles. I believe it plugged into the mic jack. IIRC it has been canceled, either because it never worked properly (most likely) or because of low demand (least likely)

I dont want want my name attached to mickey moused bluetooth system if that sh*t ever decided to hit the fan, for safety and liability reasons....
